Doing difficult things leads to success - Raymond Secco has won the first prize in the 2024 Science and Technology Award of China National Nuclear CorporationRecently, the professional review awards of the 2024 Science and Technology Awards selected by China National Nuclear Corporation were successively announced. Our company, which undertook the "Glass Solidification Project for High-Level Radioactive Waste" project, won the first prize of the group's science and technology awards. This selection was led by Xin Feng, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of China National Nuclear Corporation. Luo Qi, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the chief engineer of China National Nuclear Corporation, announced the review procedures, standards and award indicators. Ye Guan'an, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Hu Shilin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, participated in the review work. A total of 333 achievements from 7 professional groups participated in this selection. After a two-day presentation and review process, our company won the first prize with its outstanding innovative strength.
The high-level radioactive solidification project is the most significant and technically complex radioactive waste treatment project in the decommissioning planning. It is the most technologically complex and challenging radioactive waste treatment project in the field of nuclear industry decommissioning in China. It bears the historical mission of achieving a transition from "technological dependence" to "complete autonomy" in the field of high-level radioactive liquid waste treatment in our country. Raymond Cyber, as a strategic partner of China National Nuclear Corporation for the glass solidification of high-level radioactive waste, has deeply participated in major special projects for the decommissioning and governance of nuclear facilities in multiple countries. The high-level radioactive waste glass solidification project that won this award is a super project known as "a race against time and a battle against radiation". Its successful implementation has set a typical sample for responding to emergencies and provided key support for the sustainable development of the nuclear industry. The high-level radioactive waste glass solidification project is the epitome of the "strong nuclear and powerful country" mission of the new era's nuclear industry. It reflects the patriotic heart of Chinese nuclear industry workers who "do astonishing things and remain anonymous". The chairman said in his speech: "From 'following' to 'leading', what we have solved is not only the technical code but also the fate code for the sustainable development of China's nuclear energy." In Raymond Cyber's corporate philosophy, the word "difficulty" has always been the crucible for refining value. "Why did Raymond Cyber choose the most difficult path?" The chairman answered in an interview, "Because the most precipitous peak can see the most magnificent scenery, and the most complex challenge can give rise to the most disruptive innovation. From breaking the international monopoly to defining industry standards, every step we have taken is proving that: true success belongs to those who dare to engrave 'impossible' into their mission." In the future, this technical breakthrough iron army of Raymond Cyber will continue to use the furnace as paper and technology as ink to write an epic chapter of Chinese nuclear industry in the "dual carbon" journey. Doing difficult things is likely to lead to success. |
