On January 18th, China Nuclear No. 23 and China Nuclear Engineering jointly organized and held an "Engineering Application of Domestic Production and Process Research for Narrow Gap Welding Equipment for Main Steam Pipes in Nuclear Power Projects" achievement appraisal meeting in Beijing, organized by Beijing Leiming Cyber.

The members of the appraisal committee were composed of 11 experts from various units including the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the China Nuclear Energy Association, China National Nuclear Corporation, the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Nuclear Equipment Safety and Reliability Center of the China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology, China Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., Huaneng Nuclear Power Development Co., Ltd., China Nuclear Engineering Construction Co., Ltd., China Nuclear Power Research and Design Institute, Zhongyuan Foreign Engineering Co., Ltd., and China Atomic Energy Science Research Institute. The expert group conducted on-site observation of the equipment simulation process demonstration, listened to the results presentation, reviewed relevant materials, and unanimously agreed to approve the results appraisal.

The domestically developed SmartArc-400TE equipment and the automatic welding process for main steam pipes jointly developed by CNR II, CNR Engineering and Beijing Ramon Cyber were successfully applied in the main steam pipes of Units 5 and 6 of Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant. This is another significant technological breakthrough for CNR II after the successful application of the automatic welding process for stainless steel main pipes. It provides strong technical support for the promotion of domestic equipment and processes for main system pipes in subsequent nuclear power projects, and promotes the comprehensive and high-quality development of nuclear power key system installations. 

This achievement possesses independent intellectual property rights and has obtained 7 utility model patent authorizations and 1 enterprise-level construction method. It has significant social and economic benefits and broad prospects for wide-scale application.
