On April 15, 2016, at the Shanghai R&D Center of CBE, the 23rd Nuclear Construction Company of China Nuclear Construction Corporation and Raymon Cyber Company jointly developed the CAP1400 on-site CNC automatic beveling machine. The total assembly was completed and it has entered the functional debugging stage. 

The on-site CNC automatic beveling machine is CAP1400, AP1000, Hualong One and other key equipment for the alignment and installation of main pipelines. This machine provides a reliable guarantee for the automatic positioning and automatic processing of large-diameter thick-walled main pipelines in the current international market. 

The chief designer of this machine, Zhou Li, said: The large-diameter 3-axis CNC on-site bevel cutting machine jointly developed by China Nuclear Construction 23 Company and Beijing Ramon Cyber Company has a research objective that is internationally advanced. This is specifically reflected in five indicators: 

This machine has the capability to interface with three-coordinate laser trackers and computer 3D models, meeting the standards of Industry 4.0. 

2. The hardware of this machine is capable of supporting the automatic card loading and baseline adjustment function. 

3. Due to the use of three-axis servo compensation processing control, it features a saddle, an ellipse; the non-physical centering rotary surface will have the capability. 

4. The processing accuracy reaches level 7. 

5. By adopting a universal CNC interface, operators of general CNC machines can quickly master the operation of this machine. 

If the research and development goals of this machine are achieved, it will revolutionize the current workflow of on-site processing machines, significantly increasing the processing efficiency by nearly 10 times, and achieving international advanced levels. 

The 1:1 working condition cutting experiment for the on-site main pipeline of this machine will be conducted at the Shidao'wan Nuclear Power Plant in Shandong Province in May 2016.
