Improving the efficiency of nuclear fuel replacement! The Raymond Cyber fuel component transfer device "A Carrier" has obtained a national utility model patent.

Recently, the core component of the fuel assembly transfer device independently developed by Beijing Leiming Cyber Nuclear Equipment Technology Research Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Leiming Cyber") - "A Carrier", has officially obtained a utility model patent from the National Intellectual Property Administration (Patent Number: ZL 2025 2 0986182.8). This patent pertains to the fuel assembly refueling technology in nuclear power plants. Its innovative structure effectively resolves the technical problems of low efficiency in loading fuel assemblies into the carrier and extracting them from the carrier, which is of great significance for improving the refueling efficiency of nuclear power plants.

In the operation and maintenance of pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants, the regular shutdown for fuel component replacement is a crucial step to ensure continuous power generation. Currently, most pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants use fuel component transportation devices, which require two sets of tilting mechanisms to be installed separately in the reactor building and the fuel building, along with corresponding motors and transmission mechanisms. The carrier is lifted and flipped by the drive of steel cables. This design not only leads to high equipment costs but also has complex control programs due to the need for multiple control units to work in coordination. The system maintenance and operation are difficult. Moreover, the carrier uses a single-axis steel cable pulling method for flipping, which has low reliability. If the steel cable is accidentally damaged, there is a risk of the fuel components falling. More critically, the gap between the side wall of the carrier and the fuel components is only 5 millimeters, and the fuel components, which are over 4 meters long, need to be vertically installed and removed from the top. The narrow gap is prone to causing the fuel components to be scratched during the operation. To reduce the risk of damage, the operation speed is strictly limited, directly resulting in low efficiency for loading and removing the fuel components.

Raymond Cyber's recently patented "a carrier" ingeniously changed the loading and unloading logic of the fuel components through its structural design, thereby solving the aforementioned problems. The carrier has a single-sided opening structure, allowing the fuel components to enter and exit the carrier through the "offset method". Therefore, the fuel components can be lowered or raised at the open position on the outside of the carrier, and there are no objects around that could scrape against the fuel components, enabling rapid lifting and lowering operations. Only after the fuel components enter the main body of the carrier does it need to control the speed to avoid scraping against the various sides. This slow descent section only accounts for 3% to 5% of the total length of the fuel components, significantly shortening the overall lowering and lifting time. In addition, the opening side is equipped with a passive opening and closing anti-tipping mechanism. The fuel components automatically close when placed in and automatically open when lifted, providing reliable anti-tipping protection for the fuel components in flipping and other working conditions. This carrier not only effectively improves the loading and unloading efficiency of the fuel components, shortens the key path time for nuclear power plant refueling, but also enhances the safety and economy of the refueling process.

Having been deeply engaged in the nuclear energy equipment field for many years, Raymon Cyber Nuclear Equipment has always taken technological breakthroughs as its mission, continuously solving problems for China's nuclear industry. The successful acquisition of the "A Carrier" patent this time has added new achievements to the company's innovation map in the field of nuclear power-specific equipment, fully demonstrating its profound technical foundation and high sense of responsibility. In the future, the company will continue to focus on the frontiers, with more intelligent solutions, to contribute Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions to the safe and high-quality development of global nuclear power.
