Outstanding performance, highly praised application results! The summary meeting for the successful application of the overall bolt tensioning machine optimization and upgrading project of Fuqing Nucl

On October 29th, an "Application Success Summary Meeting for the Optimization and Upgrading Project of the Overall Bolt Stretching Machine for the Pressure Vessels of Units 5 and 6 of Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant" was successfully held in Beijing. This meeting comprehensively summarized the engineering application results of the optimization and upgrading project of the overall bolt stretching machine for the pressure vessels of Units 5 and 6 of Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant. It was confirmed that the optimization and renovation work of this key equipment was a complete success and successfully passed the engineering verification. This project not only enhanced the operation and maintenance guarantee capabilities and efficiency of Units 5 and 6 of Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant, but also played a significant role in achieving the autonomy and domestication of China's nuclear power core equipment and significantly improving the equipment research, development and manufacturing capabilities.

The meeting was chaired by Hong Tao, the general manager of ANP. The factory director of FQNPC No.1 Plant, Xiang Xianbao; the deputy director of Maintenance Department 3, Yu Zhaochang; the chief engineer of Maintenance Department 3, Yang Quanchao; the technical specialist of the Mechanical Department of Maintenance Department 3, Yang Xin; the specialist of the Fujian Project Department of China Nuclear Operation and Maintenance; Zhou Wen, the chairman and chief technical executive of CBE Group; and Zhao Guozhuan, the director of R&D and Design, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the main implementing party of the project, CBE, gave a comprehensive report on the optimization and upgrading of the overall bolt tensioning machine for the pressure vessels of Units 5 and 6 of Fuzhou Nuclear Power Plant. They fully introduced the expected goals, technical plans, implementation process and verification results of the project. This optimization and renovation mainly covered three key technical improvements: an additional main bolt tightening robot was added, which significantly improved the overall efficiency of bolt insertion and extraction by 30%; the horizontal adjustment cylinder was optimized into a bidirectional adjustment cylinder, enabling automatic leveling throughout the process and eliminating the original coarse adjustment procedure; the tensioning cylinder was changed to a floating structure, enhancing the adaptability of the cylinder to the concentricity of the main bolt, achieving automatic centering without the need for human intervention. The project went through stages such as design, manufacturing, on-site installation and commissioning, and AC plant test verification, and was successfully completed on October 20, 2025, with the successful application and verification of the opening/closing cover engineering for the Fuzhou 603 major overhaul. 

The meeting unanimously agreed that the engineering verification results of the overall bolt tensioning machine optimization and upgrading project for Units 5 and 6 of Fuzhou Nuclear Power Plant fully met the design requirements. The project achieved the expected results, not only verifying the scientificity and effectiveness of the optimization plan, but also fully demonstrating the efficient collaboration and close cooperation among all participating units in the field of nuclear power equipment technology research and engineering application. 

Next, Raymond Cyber will continue to deeply focus on core technologies, achieving iterative upgrades and performance breakthroughs for the integral synchronous bolt tensioning machine for nuclear reactor pressure vessels. It will also deepen its close collaboration with all parties, jointly contributing to the safety, stability and high-quality development of China's nuclear power industry. 

During the meeting, the participants were invited to visit the CBE production base. Through on-site investigation, they gained a deep understanding of the company's research and development system and production capabilities, laying a solid foundation for further deepening cooperation.

It is reported that this year marks the conclusion of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and also the 10th anniversary of the commencement of construction of the "Hualong One" nuclear power project. The "Hualong One", which originated from the coast of the East China Sea, has a total of 41 operating and approved under-construction units both domestically and internationally, making it the nuclear power technology model with the largest number of operating and approved under-construction units globally. The "Hualong One" is not only a significant achievement of China's nuclear industry's independent innovation, but also represents China's nuclear power as a "national brand" going global, contributing China's wisdom and strength to global energy transformation. 

On January 30, 2021, the world's first "Hualong One" nuclear power plant - the No. 5 unit of Fuzhou Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant - was put into commercial operation. This marked that China had entered the forefront of the world in the field of third-generation nuclear power technology, achieving a historic leap from following to competing in nuclear power technology.
